View Full Version : Random BoA US Visa miles question

I am a lowly US SP hoping to make GP this year. The only way I see myself being able to do that is by getting those sweet 10,000 preferred miles from BoA by charging more than $25,000. Unfortunately, while reaching that $25k number won't be a problem, I want to do it sooner rather than later (so I can at least hold on to SP which, without those miles, will expire on 2-29). Here's my question:

I just got my Dec/Jan bill and it was a doozy. Interestingly, the billing cycle is from 12-17-03 to 1-16-04 but the vast majority of the money spent on this bill was spent in 12-03. Sooo, for my accounting purposes in trying to figure out when I'll hit the $25k, do I actually start at 1-1-04, or is this entire bill, dated 1-16-04 going to be applied?
Example: If I charged $25,000 which posted to the card on 12-30-03, would that give me my 10k preferred in 2004 or am I SOL for making the purchase 2 days too early?

Hey, I warned you that it was a random question.

I recently got my year-end charge summary from BoA, showing charges from 1/1 until 12/31, and then a total, so I think you have to spend $25K within a calendar year to have 10,000 miles converted.

Naturally, I was just $93 short of having the 10,000 miles converted since US didn't process my Club membership fee until January.

I'm not so sure. My annual statement seemed to cut-off on the 15th of December.

Its a real issue with me as I got a BKK-DCA ticket from United refunded. The ticket was processed for refunding around the 10th of December and actually appeared on my statement on the 22d of December.

So, for the monthly DM statement, I actually had a negative for my US Airways Dividend Miles Visa card purchases.

B of A goes by closing date. I asked the same question last year.

ilmdsm is correct. I loaded up on savings bonds in late December while I still could, but after the statement closing date. All of the miles for that transaction have already appeared on my current Divident Miles statment for 2004.
