Apparently, last year I flew enough to make silver and didnt realize it until my first trip this year when the GA said "Oh, you should have told me you were silver preffered" It was a nice surprise, just thought i'd show my excitement!

Kinda happened to me. I made GP this past year on an outbound trip and didn't realize that I'd get 100% bonus on the return. Was definitely confused when I first looked at the e-statement.
