This may be more appropriate for the UA forum, but UA has just announced that they will start RDU-DEN RJ service (64 seat by mesa). Let's just pray it doesn't get like this here. That route is over 1400 miles!

Each passenger will have to sit on a 55 gallon drum of FUEL! I can see the RJ's for 500 mile routes, but 1400? That's gotta be a five hour flight in a RJ.

The CRJ's and EMB's cruise at approx. the same speed as a 737 so there's no real time disadvantage. Size and comfort is another story. If I am not mistaken, this route will be with a new CRJ-700 which might even have a FC cabin - anyone know?
