News Release just posted to www.us-cockroach.com (http://www.us-cockroach.com)

UPGRADE TO PRIVATE, FIRST CLASS

As our American servicemembers continue to return home from overseas, you will see many of them in airports. While we hope you are already expressing your gratitude to them for their service, how about helping us extend a measure of thanks?

Any US Airways Silver, Gold or Chairman's Preferred member already has the ability to upgrade themselves and a companion on a domestic or Caribbean flight, subject to availability of seats. These upgrades are unlimited for Chairman's Preferred members and for Silver and Gold Preferred are limited only by your e-upgrade bank balance.

Why not use your companion upgrade benefit to upgrade one of the many servicemembers you might see at your gate?

And don't forget, beginning in March 2004, all US Airways Preferred Members will be rewarded with unlimited upgrades for themselves and a companion subject to availability. So beginning in March, there
will be no cost to upgrade anyone.

This marketing campaign brought to you by your friends at US-Cockroach & FlyerTalk.

I did this very thing this week and have been doing it for about 3 months now.

I was in 3d and we pushed with 3c empty. I approached the F/A and asked if I could bring someone from the back up and they said sure. The young marine in 4b (full flight)was not sure it was for real at first but smiled and came up front. The F/A treated him like he was a king and the young man was speechless when we got off the plane and I told him thanks for serving his country. Freedom isn't free and he is paying the price for all of us.

I have bought dinner, drinks, for guys sitting in resturants and bars. I have taken one in as guest to the club when he had a three hour layover. Try it folks, the smiles you get are worth it all.

BTW, there are several gate agents in CLT that are doing this on their own when they see folks are coming back from overseas. Very nice touch on their part.
