Well...
I was in PIT yesterday and heard from a very senior and very reliable agent that Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida is next in line to be cut sometime before the summer. Anyone else hear this? This seems like a logical move because there are only 2x 734 going to CLT from there...

They have recently added Ft. Myers so I would not really say the route network is shrinking...

This is quite surprising given the fact that there are never a lot of empty seats on this route. I was actually quite pleased when they upgraded from 2x 733 to 2x 734 daily from CLT. I guess US decided that Delta is better suited to handle passengers at SRQ.
Maybe they should initiate Dash-8 express feeds into TPA, and boost seat capacity on TPA routes to accomodate these passengers.
Nevertheless, this is all gossip until there is an official press release.

I have heard this rumor too, but a slight variation. What I have heard is that the 737 are going to be replaced by...you guessed it, RJs http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif. Something in the neighborhood of 4-5 departures a day to CLT. Again, its just a rumor I heard, but figured I'd post it anyway.
