DCA-PWM 7 hours due to 4 Hour layover in LGA. My God I could be in Paris. What can I do with 4 hours in LGA. Any ideas?

1ST MI,

Welcome to flyer talk.

The 4 hours in LGA you can spend thinking about why oh why did you not take one of the three non-stop flights from reagan national to PWM. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

OR

You could try to stand-by on something that makes more sense.

If it was me, i'd change it or stand-by on other flights in a major way!

Neo is right......why on earth didn't you take one of the n/s flights?? Surely one of those schedules would've suited your needs better than a 7 hr trip!

Oh well. Hope all goes well in LGA and wear your boots --- we have piles of the white stuff up here in PWM with more on the way......

You really shouldn't have a 4 hour layover in LGA. Since you are flying DCA-LGA, I'm guessing that you flying the Shuttle up to LGA. These leave either every hour or every 2 hours so you should have been able to take a later DCA-LGA flight.

I place my bets on this being a Priceline ticket.

Enjoy 4 hours of LGA! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well at least there is plenty of reading material in the Shuttle gates.

Unfortunately, I am a government traveler and must take what is given to me as cheapest.

Okay, the carrier for the city pair is US. Your must fly on US. However, your government ticket allows no cost transfers to other flights using the same city pairs, so either call US reservations and ask to change to a no-stop, or stand-by (again no-cost on government ticket) for flights with a shorter connection time. However, I think the problem may be that no seats are available on other flights, if so just try to stand-by for an earlier flight and do note that there is no charge for doing such on a government ticket.

Thank you all for your help. I'll try your useful suggestions. PWM will be in April.

I'll try to keep my mind on Madrid in January, Rome-Naples in February and Paris and Copenhagen in July. Better days are coming...
