I booked a trip to CUN a long time knowing that it was likely that flights would change around. Checking virtuallythere, I see that at least 3 changes have been made as flight numbers, times and equipment have changed. The trip is in January, 2004 so when do I call to make sure they have the seat assignments right and the likelihood of further changes will not occur? I assume I should call the CP desk to get queued up for the International desk also.

Do it now. If US changes the flights again, then do the process again.

On another point here, becasue they changed the schedule on you, then that opens it up for you to change your flights if you want to without a change fee. Just make up some excuse why the new flights aren't good and call a CSR. Maybe something like "1234 is my unlucky number, so I can't possibly fly on flight 1234. I need to change." http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Call now. They have changed my flights three times now since September. I have called and actually lucked out. My morning flight out of Las Vegas was cancelled in January so now I chose an evening flight and this gives me a whole extra day. If I had chose this when I was purchasing the ticket the fare was about $75 more!! Call now get your seats, make sure everything is right. You dont want to be stuck with bad seats or undesireable flights if you wait till the week before.

Epilogue:

I called to confirm everything and to correct the seat assignment in coach on my return. They had to reinstate the FC reservation after she said "I am giving you 6B" to which I replied isn't that coach on a 767? I think the original flight booked a long time ago was on a 321.
