If I tweak my next to China trips correctly, I can bump myself over 100,000 for the year.

Besides the upgrades, is there a real benefit differential between Chairman's and Gold? Or am I asking a really, really, stupid question?

ITRADE if its in your reach by just planning a trip, do it. I might not requalify and am dreading hold times, etc.

It's probably worth it if you tend to fly mostly mid- or transcon routes on Mondays and Fridays, with a companion. Otherwise, the mileage bonus is the same, and as a Gold, my upgrade success has been almost 100% (thanks to web check-in), with the exception of Mondays and Fridays, which has been less than 25%. I find the Gold line to be very helpful, but I can't compare it to the CP line.

You may want to save your $ and forego the MR's this year, and inquire about a CP challenge for Q1 '04.

ITRADE one other thing to consider if that China trip is gonna get you a ton of miles is that they'll carry over for next year.

Agreed, they are simply worth what ever effort it takes to make CP
