For Immediate Release

US-Cockroach has declared November "Bring Your Mug Month".

All Cockroaches and their supporters will bring their own US-Cockroach beverageware for the month of November in an effort to help ensure US Airways return to profitability while being sensitive to the environment.

The plan is to request Flight Attendants fill the Cockroach mugs with their favorite beverage instead of engaging in the wasteful practice of using the environmentally unfriendly plastic disposable cups now offered on US Airways flights.

"While we don't know the cost of the plastic cups versus the cost of cleaning the glassware previously used in First Class, we do know that over time the cost of not using plastic will flow directly to US Airways bottom line while demonstrating the customers and the companies devotion to environmental issues" said Robert Johnson, spokesman for the US-Cockroach Group.

US-Cockroach is a group of loyal US Airways frequent flyers, interested in US Airways return to profitability and stability, as well as supporting and acknowledging the best front line employees in the aviation industry. More information regarding US-Cockroach may be found on their website, www.us-cockroach.com (http://www.us-cockroach.com)

Is your name really Robert Johnson ... probably a pretty common name, but there's a pretty famous Robert Johnson who already has ties to US (Robert Johnson is the founder of BET who was supposed to run the spin-off DC Air from the US/UA merger and is now the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats).

I would look in the pines for the Robert Johnson who was quoted.

We have received a comment from a cockroach that we should post a list of flights cockroaches will be traveling on with our beverage ware during November. We can post them here or start a more aptly titled post.

Your thoughts?

Greetings From the NJ Pines!

I will be traveling on Monday from PHL-JAX lvs 5:40 from PHL. Return Friday MCO-PHL depart MCO 4:40PM

I drove up to my Moms to retrieve my mugs today. I have a significant quantity to distribute.

Now I think we need to publish the list and also state this "mugging" is on ML flights only. Are we agreed?

PS: want a good laugh? go to US Airways web site under careers and go to the posting for Sales Training Manager. And notice the ebonics right under the sentence that say the applicant needs to "Have strong written & verbal communication skills"

They can't even proofread a web page and they want to outsource mtc? That must be because they are "an industry of fine print" just not big print on a web page.

Piney,

I guess I'm going to have to break down and purchase a cockroach travel mug now. It's going to be interesting to watch the faces of the F/A's when we hand them our mugs for our beverages.

BTW, how many luggage tags were sold? I'm curious since that's what I wanted. I got mine proudly displayed. And I have given some away to agents at ISP.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 175 cockroach luggage tags are scurrying around on baggage. Tags are still available, as well as mugs. The steel mugs are starting to become an endangered species, though.
