I finally bit the bullet and signed up for the DM Miles Plat Visa card. Was approved in 48 hrs and given a $25K credit limit, which I thought was pretty kewl.

Main reasons I signed up: 10K preferred miles each year, $99 companion cert, and the double tier miles promos.

Now here's my question: I have used the search function but get threads which are 26 pages long.

1) Are the double tier miles promos every year?

2) When are they in the year?

Based on my searches I have doped out that this year's bonus #3569 ran approximately mid May thru end August. Anybody remember the details of previous promos? My goal is to not get caught booking trips just before the bonus is announced and miss the dates by a day or two. If anyone even remembers the bonus numbers from previous years it would help narrow my search.

The year before this, they ran a double tier mile promo from March until April - no clue what the bonus # was.

They recently modified the deal to add the 10,000 tier mile after spending 25k. It was added about a year and a half ago. Prior to that, all Platinum cards earned something like 1.2 miles per dollar for every purchase.

That's about all the history I have.
