There are the 2 different double mile promotions available to US DMers... the one with the DM Visa and the one without. If I bought a US ticket that was really on UA codeshares (say to SJC or OAK), does either double promotion apply? I'm looking at this for cheap/easy way to get back into Silver. I have about 5800 mi so far, and need a shade less than 10K to get back in, given I can double them... I'm trying to do a mileage run in early August to the left coast to see a ballgame at PacBell in SFO.

UA flights dont count for the double bonus. Why not just do that trip on US? They fly to SFO. I was hoping for the double miles on UA too, I have trips to Tokyo and Melbourne coming up. That would have rocked. Doing a few to Europe and west coast on US instead. Still a great deal.
