My membership is about to expire, and I wanted to renew using miles... is this no longer an option? I don't see anything on the US website about it.

and to follow up... I have a feeling using miles is no longer an option because there is nothing on the site. However, I was passing through ORD the other day and picked up a Club Application at one of the US gates. It is obvious that the applications there are outdated (still lists CLE as a location), but it clearly says "deduct miles" as a payment option. If they don't let me do this, I think I may complain that they are using false advertising.

I joined the club last August when I went off to school (It was stupid for me join before then because both of my parents are lifers).
I had wanted a lifetime membership for my 18th birthday (what all-18 year-olds-want) but told that they are no longer sold. However, on the form that you are mentioning to deduct miles there was a box for lifetime memberships. The agent informed me that they had not seen new forms in several years; therefore, they continued to use to old ones even though not everything on them applied.

Well, I joined with miles in February, so if they've stopped offering that option it was more recently than that. It wasn't listed on the website at that time, but I was able to call and request it.

Relax ISP, it is posted in several places on the US Airways Club section of the website:
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">To use Dividend Miles to purchase this Club membership, please call 1-800-828-8522. </font>
Remember that if you are a Preferred member, they have reduced mileage levels for Club membership.

I have been GP since before I was 18. They are very strict about the 18 in the Club without an "adult" rule. When I did join in August they asked to see forms of ID (my driver's license and passport) in order to confirm that I actually was 18.
I do have some amusing stories from when I was younger about my attempts and successes in sneaking into the club without a member present!

As a 17 yo club member, I have NEVER had a problem with gaining access. It was a comp membership and they never check the bday on my ID just the name. I get carded for 18 everywhere else, its not like i look older, but they really don't care. I've been to PIT, BOS, DCA, PHL, LGA, and CLT all several times with no problem.
