In today's world, stuff like this shouldn't be sold on eBay. It just happens that the high bidder right now is new to eBay and has not bid on anything else before...

I doubt the uniform means a thing in today's world without the necessary badge/ID card to go with it.

I'm convinced you can find anything on eBay.

I'm also convinced that anyone who wanted to could make an outfit that would pass for a uniform with very little effort. A blue suit, a few pieces of silver cloth, and a few shiny buttons,

I'm not fully convinced, but pretty hopeful, that just a uniform wouldn't get you anywhere in an airport. Codes, cards, badges, etc are the lines of security defense, not what you are wearing.

I'm far from a card-carrying ACLU member, but stopping someone from selling clothing because it's a threat to national/airline security is a bit far-fetched to me.

On the flip side, I could envision someone in homeland defense posing as a seller to smoke out potential buyers who might be security threats...oh, that would require them to be proactive. Nevermind.

Its probably a furloughed pilot or a retired pilot who's about to lose his pension and needs some extra cash...I wouldn't be too hard on the seller.
