I, too, received the CP challenge (#5039). Interestingly, a friend of mine (we're both GP at present) received a slightly different offer which allows him to make the same 20 segments or 20k preferred miles through MAY 31st (instead of April 30th, as in my offer).

Between my current US & UA reservations, I will easily eclipse this mark by April 30th anyway, but not with US Airways mileage alone (a BNA-ORD-AMS trip this month and a BNA-IAD-LAS trip next month, both on UA, will put me over the top).

The offer, however, specifically states that the miles are to be flown on US Airways, US Airways Express, or US Airways Shuttle. I called general resevrations and got an idiot who "GUESSED" that the UA miles would count, but then connected me with the CP line. When I spoke to one of the CP desk people, I was unequivocally told that YES, as long as I gave my DM number to UA and the mileage for those flights was counted in my DM account, then those miles/segments would count toward the challenge requirements.
