I mailed in 6 paper upgrades on Nov. 27. I still don't have e-upgrades yet. Has anyone mailed them in after me and had them posted. According to usair.com it could take as long as Dec. 31, so I am still waiting patiently.

I mailed in a bunch the week before Thanksgiving as well, and no post either. I made copies before I sent them in, so I'm not all that worried yet.

Mine went in on 11/25 and posted two weeks ago. The Bear's were mailed on 12/2 and have not yet posted.

Did you add the Hamilton for express handling?

Spoke to the CP line today. She spoke to DM Service center, word is "they are waaayyy behind". Apparently got a lot more NAU's mailed in than they expected. The CP rep was amused - said what do they expect when you offer 4 for 1 on the old NAU's.

She also confirmed that as a CP I owuld not see any e-ups in my bank but would receive the 2K miles per NAU.

She said not to worry they will post soon.

I had to talk to the CP desk after waiting beyond the 10 days the website stated it would take for missing flight segments to post using the online mileage adjustment feature. I heard the same thing about being behind with transactions submitted through the website.

I guess this is what happens when everyone is let go. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Still no posting - and I mailed mine on Nov 22nd.

Spoke to CP desk again today - she spoke to DM svc ctr - they received 50,000 requests to convert NAU's - running "several weeks behind" Dec 31st commitment date.

Not sure how this squares with other folks sending certs in after me but getting theirs to post already. Maybe they are processing the Silvers and Golds in front of the CP's cuz they need the e-ups for flying whereas we are just waiting on miles.

Curiously, my wife received 10 paper upgrades in the mail _yesterday_. The letter was dated December 13. We sent in all our paper certs the weekend after Thanksgiving, nothing posted as of yet. Does anyone know if they post the e-upgrades faster if I turn them in @ a CTO or @ the airport?

A320 EOW
Jan 10, 03, 11:25 am
I don't know if your e-upgrades will post faster if exchanged and an airport or CTO, but the exchange ratio isn't the same.

If you mail them in, you get four e-upgrades for each cert sent in. If you go to the airport or CTO, you get only three e-upgrades per cert.

You'll have to decide if it's worth the risk/wait based on the above ratios.

If you do plan on sending them in through the mail, remember to do so before Jan. 31, 2003, when the exchange ratio will revert to the 3:1 ratio I mentioned above.

Still waiting for them to be converted to miles, although I don't seem to be able to check today.

From the US Airways website: "Through January 31, 2003, Dividend Miles members can get 3 E-Upgrades for each paper upgrade returned to any airport ticket counter or city ticket office, US Airways Club or the Dividend Miles Service Center." I think the 4:1 ratio only applies to certs sent in before 12/31/02. So it doesn't matter where you hand them in, the exchange rate should be the same. I haven't been able to log on today at all.

lt1GM-

Sorry, I should have checked the website before giving you that exchange advice. It's worth a shot redeeming them at the airport and CTO in that case, as it seems the DM service center is swamped with mail.

Anyway, the website seems to be functioning normally again and you can access your DM account.

According to the mailing they sent out (which I have in front of me):
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">
Turn in your paper upgrades now and get 4 for 1.

Turn in your paper upgrades* by January 31, 2003, and you will receive a great E-Upgrade exchange rate.

Get 4 for 1 -- Mail them now in the attached postage-paid envelope and receive four E-Upgrades for one paper upgrade** Get 3 for 1 -- Starting December 5, 2002, you can turn them in at any city ticket office, US Airways Club(R) or airport ticket counter and receive three E-Upgrades for one paper upgrade.

Don't wait! After January 31, 2003, you will only receive two E-Upgrades for one paper upgrade.

* Any unexpired paper upgrade issued by US Airways can be exchanged for E-Upgrades with the exception of upgrade awards redeemed using Dividend Miles

** Upgrades received prior to December 5, 2002, will be processed by December 31, 2002. All others will be processed within 3 weeks of receipt.

I just got off the phone with the gold service desk (after being on hold for about 15 minutes), and she said that they received 69,000 envelopes with upgrades in them in one day! She didn't say which day that was, though.

She didn't sound hopeful that my upgrades (sent in on 12/12) would be processed any time soon.

And who can guess when the ones I sent in last week will actually post?

Theres no reason to be peeved - this was the announced plan originally (look around in the forum). It was 4:1 if you mailed, 3:1 in person, contingent upon the deadlines. mail them in!!

As long as they honor the postmark. I sent my certificates in shortly after Thanksgiving, but they still haven't posted. If they post at 4:1, I'll be happy, but if they post at 3:1 after Jan 31, then they'll hear a complaint.
