Am I alone in lacking the energy to push to requalify for status this year? I have signed up for the bonuses, even for fast track to gold, but I can't seem to push myself to make the effort to find the routes and fly them to reclaim any status for another year.

I don't think you are alone. I have already qualified for Silver and have at least 6 segments booked on US later this year, but will come up far short of Gold. No mileage runs on US planned either, and I don't think that will change. Frankly, with the drop-off in first class service, the move to restrict fares that qualify for status miles (even though rescinded, it tells me my business is not valued), the bankruptcy filing, likely negative changes to upgrade rules once the alliance with UA is finalized, and the ridiculous new $100 stand-by and "use it or lose it" rules, I have little incentive to fly US more to attain a status that isn't worth what it once was.

I feel fortunate to have requalified for GP before the (since rescinded) madness started. If they did not rescind - that would be it as far as I am concerned - I'd fly what's booked and end it at that. But since they rescinded and they're putting out Get Out More bonuses, and a few more flights might get me to CP - I'm actually making a mileage run this weekend, and thinking of what else travel wise I'll need to do to get to the next level - if only to have higher status for whenever the UA code share is finally squared away and we have reciprocal status.

Considering most US FF'ers on the board have already requalified for their current level and many will move up at least one level this year, I think you guys are in the minority.
I'm not sure why anyone would have to expend a lot of energy finding flights to requalify ... all you need to do is pick a destination and book a flight for a weekend. Any trip planned a couple weeks in advance over a weekend will be a mileage run on US if you're registered for all the codes in the Bonus Thread.
