Had an interesting Sunday...My normal flight @5:00 out of ILM was not the normal Dash, was a Dash but a little smaller (Dash 100?200?, I forget) and was 5:10 v 5:00...then normal flight to MHT 6:40 on Bus319 or 747 was Bus321 (which youi may imagine had a ton of empty F seats, actually a ton of empty seats period) and departed at 7:20 v 6:40...Also left out of B10 in CLT v C6, the norm. The 321 pulled into MHT and dwarfed everything on the runway. Comments on the plane were pretty much based on there must have been a problem with normal plane, this was a San Diego crew and plane. Additionally, was told by one of our "regulars" that they were backing that particular flight up further into the 8:30ish time slot in a couple weeks. Thoughts?

Everything else still same old same old for me for now. Interstingly, got my first quote from leased jet service....only $10k ish to lease light jet on Naples to BOS run, round trip. What a deal!...not.

They usually mess around with flight times in the fall and spring and that change sounds routine. I haven't checked the new timetable though and probably should.

MHT has had a 321 in from PIT & PHL every night for a while. They head back out in the morning. United has been flying a 757 in there for quite a while too. It used to be very difficult to get an upgrade -- lately F has had a lot of free space.

For an individual on a one time run it's a bit pricey. Now suppose you were one of U's non-cockroach ideal pax. The sort that willingly pay $2,500 on a routine basis. The gap isn't so wide. You'll also get a frequent customer discount off the $10k and if you travel with 2 or 3 buddies (or whatever) your cost justification is all set. Plus you're probably lots less cost sensitive to start with -- after all you routinely accept the idea that $2,500 is a reasonble cost for a Y seat right?

In this world of blame shifting, where the main problem at USAirways is elites traveling on discounts, management continues to ignore the fact that price differences between nutty full fares and charter for 4 or more continue to shrink. That's the real threat to those precious yields.

There are NO 747's flying into MHT, this much I can assure you! I don't think wide bodies are even in the plan for the new runway.

The 321 has been flying in/out of MHT for about a year, maybe a little more. United has had the 757 for awhile, too, although fewer of them now.

I think what is happening is the Bus comes from the west coast and will returm in the AM but since it doesn't make any money sitting around in CLT they run it up and down the coast and then back out west in the AM

According to the schedule, the 5 pm departure, USE 3345, is being operated with a Bomardier DeHavilland Dash 8, seats 37. The 321 was an "official" change. Although, it may be as a result of 737 retirements. The departure time is now at 7:20, out of CLT gate B-11. Times/equipment/gates subject to change.
