I've got the urge to get out more. My origin/return must be DFW. Since it seems that PHL is a favorable city for various reasons, I'd like to do a mileage run sometime before I can't get out any more. :-)
Any advice on routing, destinations, etc. I'm not at all adverse to going from hub to hub such as DFW-PHL-PIT-... though I think that DFW-PHL PHL-DFW seems advantageous.
If you have any suggestions as to how to find good fares from DFW market let me know. Maybe my best bet is to try for a weekend esaver...

A generic solution to this problem can be found with the 'dream maps' function at travelocity.
They use your profile info (ie home city) and show a map of all major US cities, and the cheapest ticket available. [Note: No guarantee to be on US though.]
I'd post a URL, but it seems to be fairly dynamic - just go to travelocity home page, choose flights tab, then dream maps in the blue horizontal bar.

The best flights I could find were all $220-$230 range. PHL, BWI, BUF or Florida, like MCO, FLL, JAX. I assemble a list of cities that are often cheap from DC. The list is driven by cities served by Southwest, Jet Blue and AirTran.
The advantage of DFW-PIT-PHL is that the PIT-PHL segment is worth 500 miles.

When I went there, it defaulted to DFW as my home. Kind of freaky...

It has to default somewhere I suppose (or it could be blank of course) ... isn't DFW where Travelocity is based? I don't think it's a massive conspiracy. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, I was just in there around that time looking for flights. :-)
I sometimes wonder whether they cache some session information that other users end up encountering.
Yes, Sabre is in DFW and so am I. It IS a conspiracy.
