We have a credit for an used ticket from earlier this year. Can this credit be used for anything (excess baggage charge, club membership fee, etc) other than the purchase of a ticket?

Sorry, Bill. Vouchers like that are redeemable ONLY for travel provided by US. I have long wished they would let me use it as "cash" as long as I shopped at USAirways!!!

Not sure if this helps any, but I believe you can also use vouchers to pay for change fees - I used one for a change fee on an international ticket earlier this year.

Apparently, there are two kinds of "cash" vouchers out there. One of them is called a "Travel Voucher", which is written out on that yellow stock with black carbon ("special service ticket"?). I got one of these in place of a free roundtrip when I was bumped off of a flight. The value of a "Travel Voucher" may ONLY be used towards the purchase of a US Airways TICKET.

The other kind of voucher is a "Transportation Voucher", which is printed on US Airways ticket stock (like the stuff on which your boarding cards are printed). These can be used like cash towards US Airways tickets and/or fees.

I had this explained to me when I tried to use part of the value of my "Travel Voucher" to pay the $50 fee for changing the city pairs on my Swiss award.

Hmm. I seem to recall that the ones printed on boarding pass stock can only be used for travel, while the ones hand-written on special services tickets (the same paper as when you buy DMUP01 upgrade coupons at the airport) can be used for anything.

Actually, the credit is from an e-ticket cancellation and doesn't have a specific voucher. All I have is a ticket # which I should be able to use at the airport/telephone sales for travel.
