can someone please tell me something about the p@ssport system on the A330? Is it reliable? and is it any good? my last two flights on other airlines the ptv was either broken or wasn't doing what it was supposed to. Thanks

It's an industry leader. I have yet to hear anyone say that another airline's system is better.
The only negative comment that I have heard is that it doesn't have a 'plane tracker' mode showing where the plane is along it's route.
Only rarely have I heard of a system being broken, but it does happen.

Two of seven US A330 flights to the UK this year the passport system was not working. Reliable? It's the best out there when it works.

For having flown the 330 six times on US (others have flown more and would have a better baseline to work with) - I was never aware of a problem with the Sony P@ssport system. I seem to recall that they have either the 8mm personal units or something similar available as a backup in case the P@ssport goes on the fritz.

True, they do carry a limited number of personal video players. But ask early they don't have enough for everyone.
