View Full Version : Boston Airport Question

Hello,

I am going to post this here in hopes that someone might have some good advice.

I am flying to Boston tomorrow on USAIR flight 408, leaves 6:30 arrives Boston at 7:46AM. This flight is scheduled to arrive at Terminal B.

I am connecting to a cape air flight which leaves from Terminal C at 8:30AM from gate 33, which only leaves me 45 minutes to get from one place to the other.

Since USAIR has an interline baggage agreement with cape air, and you basically can't take a carry on in a cessna, might it be worth checking nearly everything and just bringing a book? (I usually never check)

Is security that bad at Terminal C and I am thinking since Delta and Continental fly from there that they wouldn't honor any status on USAIR?

And as a third question, how early does everything open at Philly? I am trying to get a feel for how busy the airport is for the 6:30AM flight. (as a side note I still get excited no matter when I get on the plane regardless of how many flights I take, so I will be up and awake anyway).

Chris, as you noted, that's a tight connection. It's a brisk 10 minute walk from B to Cape Air's new location in C. I think it's a toss-up whether to check or not, but I would check it just so you don't have to go through the security hassle. If you and/or your bags don't make it in time, don't sweat it, Cape Air departs every couple of hours. I haven't flown them in a few years, but they used to add extra flights on the holidays.

Chris-

I think PHL opens for business (ticketing, at least) at 4:30 AM. The Club will open later, of course.

I'd also vote for checking everything. It will speed your trip through security, and save you from lugging stuff on the not-very-pleasant stretch of sidewalk from Terminal B to C. Also, if you get to C and find a very long line for security, I'd go to the Cape Air ticket counter and explain your situation--they can probably escort you to the front of the line.

Enjoy your walk through the beautiful airport of Our Fair City... it should only be 85 degrees or so tomorrow morning at that time... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
