If you're referring to award travel, US does allow stopovers. Whether a Sat. night stay is required I think depends on the route your flying. I know for a fact that I've booked roundtrip awards that did not have Sat. night stays.

Welcome to FT, by the way!

Our Standard awards ( 20k offpeak / 25k peak / Standard First 40k offpeak / 50k peak) all have sat min stay requirement. Premium uses more miles, no capacity controls or sat night stay. The stopover on domestic tickets are the most complicated. Here's an example of valid routing with stopover. PHL-PIT( stopover)-DEN-PHL ( the sat overnight should be at DEN, based on mileage formula). Here's an example of invalid routing PHL-DTW (stopover)-DTW-PIT-LAX-PHL. In other words, the stopover is allowed where you can fly nonstop to stopover and stopover to destination.
