Just missed silver by 4 segments last year. Is there a promotion on now that might make me eligible. I have already flown 8 segements this year.

Has anyone seen the standard 6,250 mile Silver promotion. My daughter is about to have 7K status miles posted tomorrow night. Having a second elite in the family will help.
More importantly - do they look at your bonuses when they sign you up?
How can I get silver status with 6250 miles? I could do this in two weekends, two trips from BOS-SFO to see the girlfriend!

They had Silver/Gold challenges every quarter last year. They had a promo code so anyone could sign up by the automated system. This year there has been no code and you have to talk to a DM rep. They are called "in house" promotions and they are not supposed to sign you up unless you are targeted. I know the rule has been waived for people doing the Gold challenge. I have not heard of a silver challenge this year.
