Has anyone ever used the lounge at the Charlotte NC airport? If so, please share your experiences. Thanks.

There are three Clubs in the CLT airport. The largest is close to Concource C. Very large, good Bar area- basic snacks. There is a small club by Gate 6 in Concource B and even a smaller one at the end of Concource D (this one might be closed - not sure). All the clubs are great to rest the smaller ones do get croweded at times.

By all means use the one just off the food court, which you may enter about 15 yards down either councourse C or D (it sits between them). It's vastly larger than the other two, and much nicer.

There is the basic big room, food, cubbies you can work in, TV, yadda yadda. Very large and bright. There is a bar off the entrance. And there is another large room for smokers, again w/ TV, etc..

It's one of the best I've been in, though I've never had the change to go into the one in PIT.

Enjoy! When will you be in CLT?

Pam

The main CLT Club is very nice.... lots of space, recently remodeled. You won't have free (booze) drinks but other than that it is as nice as they come IMHO.

I concur with the above posts, The Club between C and D in CLT Is the best in the system that I have visited. The club on D near express and gates D1-D4 is closed now. Not sure if will reopen.

As I said, "other than that" it's as nice as they come. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Toss a free beer machine in there (like the one at the NRT RCC) and I'd miss EVERY connection through CLT. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for all your help. I will be in Charlotte around the middle of may, connecting to Seattle to catch the NCL cruise to Alaska.

I concur about the club near C concourse. I am in Charlotte right now and passed it on my way out--I will be spending some time there tomorrow afternoon if anyone is around--email me.

I was in the main CLT club (between C and D walkways) on Tuesday evening (3-12). I was somewhat surprised to find an extremely limited number of magazines and no newspapers. In addition, the club seemed to be much more messy than I have ever seen it.
I went to the men's room to wash up only to find absolutely no towels or tissues there. I let the desk agents know only to have them tell me that just about every service person was recently rounded up and removed by INS! I guess there's now a larger pool of candidates for security positions.

Hopefully the club will find replacements. The main CLT club is on par with the main clubs in PIT and PHL...usually clean, well stocked, with courteous and helpful desk staffs.

Beckles may have more info - but I saw something on the local news last week about a whole bunch of folks - like over 30 I think - who were arrested for falsifying information to "get a security pass" - now I didn't hear if that was associated with getting a job or just getting a pass.. I wonder if these folks were associated with that..

As an aside: I think the nicest Club in the system is the DCA location. PIT, CLT, and PHL are nice but they are big... DCA is a good comfortable size and the staff there are great.

While on the Club issue, think we will get the opportunity to access Clubs without a ticket like the Admiral's Club is doing? Although I haven't had the opportunity lately, it was nice to wait in the US Club while on another carrier.
