After looking at the fare rules for this weeks Domestic E-Savers, I no longer see the exclusion of upgrades for those tickets.
I thought last week the E-Savers still stated not valid for upgrades even though it was after Jan. 15th when the new rules went into effect.
Let me know if I missed the small print some where.

The fine print on the new upgrade chart for NA upgrades says:
"Standard Awards and special fares like those purchased via auctions on priceline.com (E, W and Z fare classes) are not valid with upgrades."
Since ESavers are fare code: VESAVRWN, you'd be on a V fare, which is now valid for upgrade on domestic routes.
What I do find interesting is that the North American upgrade chart at:
http://www.usairways.com/dividendmiles/redeemingmiles/howtoredeem/upgrades.htm
does not show Chairman's 7 day upgrade window anymore. Just 'Dividend Miles, Silver and Gold'. So, I called the CP liason who informed me that the window is still 7 days. Why, then, did they take CP's off the upgrade chart? She had no idea but would let the web folks know. Obviously, the answer I was hoping for was that CP's can upgrade any fare at any time.....

Good news and bad news.
Good news: I tried to upgrade an e-saver to LAX. She said that I could.
Bad news: No "G" inventory showing, and I'm sure the remaining seats will be "Chairmaned" by the time I get to the airport.

It appears that they've moved things around quite a bit. The reference to the 7-day upgrade window can be found here: http://www.usairways.com/dividendmiles/preferredlevels/chairmans_naupgrades.htm

The same thing was true in the e-mails last week, there was no language about not being upgradeable, but the ESaver I checked last week still had nonupgradeable rules in the fare rules.
BUT, checking an ESaver's fare rules for this week, it's not there anymore either! So that's it, that rule is gone ... lasted a year ... way to go US Airways!

Quick Question- what is the deadline for buying a weekend e-saver?

From past experience - I've been able to buy 'em by phone as little as 2-3 hours in advance (just have to call the regular 800 number, instead of the SP or GP lines). Online - never seemed to have a problem buying them on a Saturday - so long as it was more than 6 hours before departure. Of course, they pull down the special e-savers number by late Saturday a.m. or early afternoon.
Regardless, it's good to have e-savers again upgradeable.

Just as a point of clarification, I just upgraded an e-saver for the second weekend running.
Of course, as a US3 I'd like the "old" SWU setup more, but what can you do....
