I have yet to add a US Airways First Class amenity kit & menu to my collection. Yes, I actually collect those things.
Are there any of you who have tons of these lying around or would otherwise be willing to part with them? Unfortunately, I don't have much I can offer in return, but I'd be happy to send you some $ to cover shipping, plus a little something for the goods. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Supposedly FC is gone on US now, everything is the same as Envoy except the seats (Envoy Plus or something like that they're calling it).
I might be able to help you out with the amenity kits and menu from Envoy though ...

On CDG-PHL two days ago in First Class, no written menus were provided. The flight attendant read the choices (which were identical to those in the Envoy printed menu).

Huh? I thought they were still flying 3-tier planes (Airbus, I thought) on some flights. Not Madrid -- that's a 2-class Boeing I was just on -- but isn't CDG a 3-class flight?

Nope...anything on the 330 is now Coach, Envoy/Envoy+...in Envoy+ you get everything just like Envoy but a full recline seat...no more sleep suits!
On our CDG-PHL return a few weeks ago they were handing out Envoy menus to the old FC section...though they did pull the curtain between the cabins...

I guess this is effective already. A quick fare check on usairways.com:
Envoy Class for tomorrow's (12/3) US26 PHL-CDG one-way is $4489.30. First Class for same flight is $4751.30. Fare basis is still F.
Will (Has?) US lower the mileage requirements for award/upgrade too?
So I guess US must have refunded the fare difference for everyone who already booked a full F fare (not that it is more than a handful of people).

I just phoned US yesterday to try to book an award seat to Europe over the holdays. The only award they have (apparently) to any city is a first class award, for which they were more than willing to try to take 120K for. I said, "No thanks." However, I did ask if they still had full first class service, and they said they did. I would be pretty upset if they took 120K for First and I ended up getting Envoy+...especially since I never thought 120K for first was all that great of a bargain.

Just talked to a CP Liason. She was reading diretly from a bulletin dated last week:
First and Envoy do, in fact, get the same 5 course menus and wines.
First does get a few extras in their amenity kit, and the chocolates that the Envoy people will sorely miss. No more pajamas for First either.
Unless you want to stretch out and sleep on the longer trips(like PHL-FCO), this may not be worth the extra 45,000 points or extra $$$.

ThisFlight-
Were there no Envoy awards available for redemption, or are there no 80k awards 'on the chart' anymore? 120k for envoy is highway robbery.
Also - although this is not what was requested, I have tons of Envoy amenity kits for anyone who might want them. My wife grumbles every time I bring one home - then ends up raiding them for lip balm or toothpaste ;-)
Any interesting offers considered for the kits.

I will be flying first on wen/sun this week, I will let you know how it goes. I was told that first has better wine than envoy, and no sleeping suits (no problem since they are made for someone 6'4" weighing 300 lbs. and that would be 3 of me). If the wine is identical from envoy they will be hearing from me.

From my ride in First last week, the wines were the same as Envoy -- and no wine list was provided. However, we were served canapes upon boarding.

Definitely not worth the extra miles (award or upgrade).
However, if you (or your company or client, etc.) is already paying the full J fare, the extra $300 is (relative to the whole J fare) very little and probably well worth it for the sleeper seat, especially eastbound. The only problem would be if your accounting department would flinch at the F word on the receipt!
TPA US FF: Is First Class still treated as its own class (i.e., dedicated check-in line, curtains closed to Envoy cabin, dedicated FA's, etc.)? Did you take any pictures (like those you e-mailed me from one of your other Envoy runs)?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes, food, cabin, etc. photos . . . but the trip report will be a while. If you would like, I'll e-mail them to you a lot sooner.

Well I did 1st phl/lgw wen/sun. sleeper suits/slippers upgraded amenity kits etc. both ways. No difference in wine or food, and NO chocolate either! They now serve everyone from the front so if envoy is full and you are on the aisle in 1st expect to bumped a lot by FA's and carts. There were no menus given out since they all say envoy on them.
An FA told me that she was embaressed by the "first" class service offered and other customers have been peeved at it. I didn't really mind any of it except for the wine selection, it was worse that envoy was a year ago.
