I am booked on a Metrojet flight BOS - MCO in a few weeks and checking on US Air's web site this flight has been canceled every day. I also noticed then under services on their home page Metrojet is missing. I did find the link for Metrojet after clicking on Us Air Shuttle but sent me back to the home page. Anyone know anything more about this?
Thanks.

it is interesting that http://www.flymetrojet.com which was Metrojet's own website now goes to USAirway's sites... hmmm
Sorry, I don't have any particular news about it... but I would suspect checking other random MJ routes would show you....

I'm not sure what US is doing about branding flights Metrojet or mainline, but the reduction in flying (25%+) will come from parking the MD80, F100, and 737-200 fleets. The 737-200 fleet is ALL Metrojet. Draw what conclusions you wish. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I just checked BOS-FLL for 10/11, returning 10/13 departures and that still shows as nonstop MetroJet flights.
I also checked MHT to MCO and this showed up as Metrojet flights MHT to BWI and then continuing BWI to MCO Metrojet flights.

Sure but it does seem Metrojet is getting big cuts. Just looking at BOS-FLL today -- three non-stops, 1 one-stop.
Look at BOS-FLL in mid November -- 1 nonstop.
I am very sorry for the employees who are going to lose their jobs, but USAirways does seem to be doing a lot of things right in responding to the realities of the market.

The company has announced plans to retire a couple of fleet types, including the 737-200's. These are what MJ uses.

The new schedule is set to be loaded in to the system this Saturday (9/22). It will be interesting to see what stays and what goes AFTER the new schedule is up.
