View Full Version : Advice on registering for bonus codes

I'm a relatively new frequent traveller(new consultant) and have a couple of questions about registering for bonus codes found in the bonus code thread. It mainly applies to codes 2327 and 2328. They both seem like great offers but it says they aren't valid with any other flight bonus. Does this mean that I should only register for 2328 and not any other codes(such as 2327,2331,2333,2336) that give flight bonuses or I potentially won't get it? Has anyone actually received double and triple mile bonuses?

Also, has anybody ever had any luck with registering and getting miles for a promotionretroactively? I noticed a thread on bonus code #2282. It was for receiving 4000 miles for every round trip from Florida between mid Febraury and the end of June. I live in Orlando and have taken about 14 round trips on US Air since then. Meaning if I would have known about this promotion I'd have close to 60,000 more miles in my account right now. Any advice/chance on how to get it?

Any advice/help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Dave

I had signed up for the Silver/Gold challenges. Plus signed up for a bunch of others at random, including the triple miles when it came out. The flights which gave me the number to make Gold were during the period that the triple miles came into effect. After a reasonable amount of time, I called because I had not gotten the bonuses and a rep took care of it for me.

When a promo says not valid with other bonuses, I think it means that you can't get higher than the triple. like if a specific route got double and you had signed up for the triple, you would get triple, not quintuple.

I would and did sign up for the triple. Go for it!

The DM people say that offers that are not valid with other bonuses mean that these bonus codes override any other bonuses that you may qualify for. For example, if you register for the triple miles and book your reservation online, you won't receive the 1,000 mile online booking bonus-only the triple miles. I registered for the coast-to-coast double miles offer between BWI and LAX/SFO, booked the trip online and used the kiosk at DCA for checkin (which would have given me an additional 1,000 miles), but only got the double miles. When I called the DM ServiceCenter, they told me that I wasn't entitled to the online and kiosk bonuses because of the restriction on the coast-to-coast double miles offer.

As far as trying to get miles for a retroactive offer, I would certainly call and try it. They can only say "no", but you might get lucky and get a sympathetic agent!

Put them all in .. THe system is pretty unsophisticated and you never never know what you will get. Its worth the investment in time to put it them ALL in..

I'm going to disagree with you here. If you read the bonus exclusion carefully, it will say that the offer is not valid with other "flight bonuses". On-line booking bonuses, DM Visa bonuses, and E-ticket kiosk bonuses are not flight bonuses.

Double miles between BWI and LAX is a flight bonus.

I did a trip about two weeks ago between DCA and CHS. I got the online booking bonus (7,000 miles as it was booking #3), the DM visa bonus, the E-ticket kiosk bonus, and the triple miles bonus.
