There are some real bargains out there for travel on US. Just finished booking several tickets. Best deal was FLL-NYC same day June 13 for $127. Just enough time in Manhattan to do some serious shopping the day after my birthday!
So, for those of you seeking to pad your mileage, times couldn't be better.

If you've got a lot of flexibility -
PHL-AMS just priced out at $321(INCLUDING taxes) for a depature tomorrow(5/10), returning 5/14. I didn't try other dates, but there seems to be a big sale in the system.

Are you sure its not a Friday the 13th sale? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
I had a three overbooks on my Friday, the 13th of April mileage run, so everybody seems to ignore it anyways.

Some of this is matching, but obviously business is soft. As for the FLL-NYC deal mentioned above, remember it's on Metrojunk.

Did anyone else grab some of the $78 fares to/from ATL? I have business there and peppered my summer with a pile of trips for short money.

True its on Metrojet, but its still a hell of a good deal for a same day round trip. I personally try to avoid MJ myself, but being in FLL, its kind of hard to get around it and still fly US into BOS or LGA if you need a nonstop. And, to be honest, I haven't really had any bad experiences on them. Now if only they'd dump the line for boarding passes at the gate...or at least let the Clubs issue them. Still haven't figured that out, but it still beats SWA's cattle call any day.

A lot of the cheap fares are due to the influence of AirTran. I'm flying on business to New York for $80. Just a few months ago couldn't imagine that for anything less than $300... So patronize the competition folks, at least sometimes http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hi PitFlyer...
I just bought a PIT to LGA for $84 for business in New York the end of the month. It looks like the AirTrans competition is starting. I think that USAIR is a great airline and I'll definately continue to use them (a lot!) but it's also nice to snag a great fare every so often. My boss is letting me stay in a much nicer hotel in New York because of the savings!
I bought three tickets to LGA last night for $78 each, I'm treating my 2 nephews to a day in New York the end of the month. They want to go to the WWF restaurant in Times Square. Just to balance it out, I'm going to take them to Ellis Island for a little history lesson also! Even better, they're at my house right now washing and waxing my car http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif ...and they're going to do my yard work http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
It's amazing what a cheap airfare can do!
Take care

There are some deals out of FLL to the West Coast with no Sat. nite stay; $200-$250 round trip to LAX, SAN and SEA. FLL to LGA on MJ is still cheap same day: $150 R/T w/tax.

HomeToPit: I know the feeling.. however, remember if we don't patronize AirTran it's gonna go away, so I suggest sending a trip or two their way. I've tried to do that. I know miles and elite status is hard to pass up but.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
See ya in New York I'm sure. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I am new to this bulletin board - courtesy of TUG users. How are you guys getting the cheap airfares from Pgh to anyway - like Orlando? Is there a special website? I would like to take advantage of that last minute 88 round trip deal and I sure could use the extra FF miles.
Are there any good hotel deals?

welcome jazzeaw. ORD is Chicago O'Hare. I'm not aware of any great sale to Orlando right now.

PIT/MCO is $188 on US (VE14QN18)
I just go to www.usairways.com, (http://www.usairways.com,) type in my city pairs, and click "my dates are flexible" which will return a list of all the available fares.

As a note, PIT-MCO is often $158 R/T these days, and sometimes as low as $138 R/T. The $188 R/T fare is pretty standard (matching standard AirTran fare). For further reference, the esaver fare is $119 R/T. Sometimes PIT-TPA can be real cheap for some reason, and TPA's only a couple of hours from MCO.
