Contract negotiations for two groups of US Airways Express flight attendants are heating up- with one group close to a strike- just as UA faces questions about how it will operate the regional airlines as part of its proposed merger with US Airways.
The Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, has contracts in place protecting all of the flight attendants involved in United's proposed merger. Those contracts contain job protections and successor language that binds United or any potential buyer to the contracts.

AND: United Airlines and US Airways have agreed to prolong the regulatory review period for their proposed merger after the Department of Justice (DOJ) yesterday asked for additional details about a deal between United and AMR Corp.'s American Airlines.
