Is this gold challenge available for all Silver Preferred members?????
Can you register for the promotion with the code even when you were not targeted?
I know someone who claims he was able to put the code in on the automatic track although he was not targeted.
Any experiences that when the machine accepts it you are ok?? On some earlier posts people were claiming the code for the silver challenge would not be accepted by the automatic system so I wonder if that means when the machine accept it you are enrolled?? Any way to find out ??
Interesting topic because the real people are playing tough this year on enrolling people into the challenge who were not targeted.
By the way information is not for me I have proudly requalified like the last seven years the hard way doing a 50.000 miles with US.

Thanx for posting the Gold challenge offer. I got to Silver over the summer and had over 13,000 miles flown in October/Nov so I was upgraded when I called and my record was checked. I logged into their site this evening and it does reflect Gold status. I was going to be about 5k short and was considering a mileage run.

Thanks for posting this-- I called yesterday after my 16th segment and they told me that I qualified for the promotion. Checked my account this morning and sure enough status is Gold Preferred. I was told the "GOLD" kit would arrive in February.

I have checked with the Silver hotline to verify the rules of this promo, and student has them right on.

Being 1100 miles short for the year, I am going ATL-CLT-SAV-CLT-ATL on saturday. A true mileage run. so if you see anyone aimlessly wandering throughout CLT or SAV tomorrow simply carrying a book, say hi

I wonder if you would get the SWU's if you qulify via the gold challenge or if they will send you a 2001 package in February without them.

Student, you're great! Met the challenge, got the Gold... 36K for the year, but one transcon and one LGW put me right over into Gold...

We should all make sure that we post all of this stuff once we receive it -- targeted mailings be ****ed! :-)

I'm bringing this thread back to the top since I think I had this bonus kick in recently. I did a mileage run last month, and besides the thrill of getting unexpected bonus miles (gotta love that bonus thread - thanks, jkzahn), it seems like I was also unexpectedly upgraded to Gold Preferred (14,212 status miles through March). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Has anyone else had a similar experience recently?
