I have 3179 leftover points on US from when I used to live in BOS. I'd like to move 3000 of them into Hilton and let the other 179 drift into United. But I belive I read that Hilton requires moves in 5000 mile increments.

If I move 2000 miles from AMEX MR into US, can I then move those miles back out to Hilton instead of using them for a ticket?

In a word - yes.

I don't think that USAirways miles can be transferred to Hilton.

Yeah, PG is right. You'll have to wait for the merger to go through (or if it doesn't, rack up enough US Airways miles to get some type of award). Alternatively, as I'm sure you know, you can combine them for awards on either AA or US through August 23 of this year for travel through August 2002.

On a positive note, Dividend miles earned on or before December 31, 1999 will never expire (there is no 3-year activity stipulation on these miles), a policy which I believe should not be affected by the merger, if it happens.
