Since United is not a member of the American Express Membership rewards program, this is yet another blow to the perks of Dividend Miles. I haven't gotten any notice yet, but I guess we'll be getting a 'cut-off' date to transfer miles from AMEX into US.

For the business traveller who uses AMEX, it's easy to rack up 50K points that are nice enhancements to the DM balance.

Good point. There are several things that they will have to realize and if we understand United, they will burn the house before giving it away.

I have AMEX MR points which I am going to transfer to USAir. I figure I have 2 outlets for them-
1. Pool USAir and AAdvantage miles towards awards
2. Merge USAir and United account

Having been Gold DM on US, I was discouraged on requalifying so I will be only Silver in March. Not counting on much activity on US/UA. Will the new airline code be USA? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
