I should have made silver by the first of December, I assume US Airways will make me silver for the rest of 2000 and for 2001 but here is the question. Will US Airways send me upgrades(2 domestic and 2 systemwide) good for the rest of 2000 and good till 28 February 2001 or just wait till they send the 2001 materials? i would like to use one in January to London.

Yes, you will be Silver for the rest of this year and also through February 2002. Since it's so late in the year, can't say if US will give you a 2000 card (doubt it) or the upgrades. They do give the welcome kit with the upgrades and systemwides for mid-year qualification. As for the expiration date - if they follow how they do it for mid-years, you would get 2 SWUs that would expire in December 2001. Of course, nothing is set in stone - and they may choose to make you wait for everything until the 2001 packet comes out in late Feb - and then you'll only get 2 SWUs and 2 North American upgrades.
I'm sure there are others in your situation -either they've already qualified, or will do so around the same time. Do let everyone know what happens.

I took the flight that qualified me for silver on 9/26/00, and the miles posted within 2 or 3 days. I have still not gotten the "good stuff".
My mom is getting sick (I think) of me asking her about once every two weeks if anything from US has made it to my CA address - so perhaps one of you can let me know when I should expect it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif?
I am frustrated by the fact that the longer it takes, the longer until I learn what the elite service number is so I can call in and request waitlisting for upgrades, preferred seating, etc for my trip home for X-mas http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.
On a somewhat unrelated note - as an elite, will I still need to show up at FRA 2 hours before the flight (on 12/24), or does US allow elites to check in at the envoy line?

You will still have to show up 2 hours before your flight unless you are flying Envoy or FC.
And technically, the Envoy line is for Envoy passengers only at European check-ins. The Preferred information says you can use FC/Preferred check-ins in North America. However, I've seen Preferred signs mixed in with Envoy check-in signs at LGW and FCO (I think).

yonatan: Even though you're overseas - you may want to try to call the Dividend Miles Service Center (whatever number is closest to you, even if it's the old Winston-Salem number - of course, note the hours) and they may give you your new elite number if you let them know what the deal is (haven't received your card, packet, etc.). The Silver folks gave me the Gold numbers when they confirmed that I had met the good ol' Gold challenge and was thus a Gold. Also, your new DivMiles statement (which should be arrive anytime now - assuming you don't receieve an e-statement) will have those numbers on it.

I qualified for Silver Preferred in October 2000 and still am waiting for my Welcome Kit. I spoke to someone at the Dividends Center and it was confirmed that my "Preferred Status" is good until Feb 2002. When you enter your membership number through the Dividends telephone and decide to speak to a live agent you are automatically connected to the Preferred line.

But the key is (unless it has recently changed), non-preferreds have to dial a toll number (in the 336 area code - over in the Winston-Salem area) to get in touch with the DMiles Service Center. Preferreds have the toll free numbers for the DMiles service center, depending on level, and I think that's what yonatan is asking about.
Otherwise aw, you're on target.
