I wasn't going to register for the US Silver promotion, but when I saw the HHonors tie-in (20k miles) on these pages, I was convinced.

Now I need some miles or segments. I have two segs and about 1000 (?) miles already booked (IND-BOS). To max the HHonors promo, I want to do two more trips. I travel out of IND. It's a quick flight to PIT, so any suggestions?

BTW: should I even bother going out of my way to get status on US? I am prem ex on UA; won't the merger give me reciprocal status on US? Can I get comped to similar status on US?

You can do better, but if you need segments and don't got a lot of money or time its a good option.
