Groups of 10 or more can capitalize on cheap fares to Europe. Fares are good between 11/1 and 12/14 AND then 1/8 thru 3/15. All I need to do is find 9 friends! http://www.usairways.com/groups/europe.htm

Those are amazing fares! It's too bad us Flyertalkers are all too dispersed to take advantage of it.
On second thought, how can I not take advantage of this fare? I'm going to see if I can round up the usual suspects. A Party In London, I hope! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Pittsburgh to London: $114
With non-stop service starting in two weeks, it just can't be beat! I figure around $300 w/ taxes, for 3720x2=7440 status miles and nearly 15,000 overall miles or $.02/mile!
TFNF, Erie is an hour drive... Geo, DC is a four hour drive http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey, dg1! Erie is two hours...but I spend most of my time in Boston. I just happened to be in Erie visiting family when I needed to do that mileage run. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
As far as that goes, though...let me know if you actually do end up planning something. I'll see what I can do...London is a big favourite of mine!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif I might even be able to drag a few folks from BOS along if the price is right! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm open to suggestions to other city combinations, but the PIT-LON fare is the cheapest one listed. geo, you mentioned you had a group discount for your group of 14 before. Do you know more about group discounts, ie,
1) Is there any deposit required? Is it refundable?
2) What happens if ten people don't actually go? Is everyone's reservation just cancelled and money returned, or are they debited the rest, or what?
3) What happens if ten people make the reservation but one later changes it, does that cause a problem?
Again, I'll call and find answers to the questions if anyone here doesn't know. Choosing a date is tough. I'm tempted to go for next year so people can ensure they have enough vacation days/time to plan, but by then we might be flying Untied Airlines...

The rules state a 5-day minimum stay; my PTO days vest on 11/15--I'd definitely be interested anytime after that! Never been to London, either...
And, geo, when are you scheduling your mileage run to FRA? I just might be crazy enough to join you!

Go Tribe!!! I'll be heading to Germany on August 9th. The exact itinerary is posted in the August Itinerary thread. As for a group visit to London... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
dg1, 10 folks in our group did use the US Airways group desk. All I did was provide my friends the phone number and the flight information and they took it from there. I think they did put down a deposit and I do remember that all the tickets had to be paid for at one time. That means ten separate calls with ten separate credit cards is not an option. It does mean that one person can call and earn all those miles on their card!!!

I wonder.. I know that I asked USAirways about their wedding program, and for that everyone could buy their tickets by themselves. Well, I'll call the Groups number and see what they tell me.
I'm already a travel agent for some of my less informed friends in the area, but collecting money is a whole new ballgame http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
