In a letter to investors and analysts, US Airways detailed its Fleet Plan Forecast through August. According to it's Form 8-K filed with the SEC, US plans to add a total of 15 new planes in June, July and August. The new planes will all be A-320s and A-330s.
The company estimates retiring 7 aircraft, including DC9-30s and B737-200s, during these months.

The filing also indicates that US Airways expects a 10.5% year-over-year increase in available seat miles for June, a 16.3% increase during July, and a 15.9% increase for August. Available seat miles for fiscal 2000 are estimated at an 11.3% increase from the previous year.

Year-over-year fuel costs, which rose 75% in May, are expected to increase 68% in June, 20% in July and 9% in August.

Those of us who are a bit widebodied (on bones alone in my case) appreciate the move toward the 320!
