Here's part two of my A330 trip report detailing inflight experiences...

The plane was COOL!! I like it a lot. It seemed a very chic design, and everything looked so new. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I was seated in 3B on the aisle (Envoy cabin AB CF GH), and my friend was in 3C across the aisle. I was pleased with the seat overall. Electronic adjustments were nice. My only complaint is that it seemed like the headrest needed to be angled back a bit farther, but that might just be my personal preference. Note that I agree with a previous post that said that 1) you loose a significant amount of space in the bulkhead rows and 2) the rear Envoy cabin seems "seperate" and "distant", so to speak, even though I wasn't seated there. First class seats looked good, but not as nice as I had expected. Coach class looked significantly more comfy than on the 767s, and the individual entertainment systems at each seat in coach looked good, but smaller than Envoy of course.

In flight service was very nice. I was impressed. Pre-flight drinks with newspaper and magazine cart. More drinks and some peanuts during the delay. Take-off. More drinks. Meal Service as follows:

LUNCH:
- Mixed Nuts with Drinks
- Hors d'oeuvre of canapes: chicken curry, prawn w/ mayo, pear w/ blue cheese mousse
- Salad cart with selection of dressings and condiments
- Bread basket: warm bread selection w/butter

Entrees:
- Grilled Filet of Beef: accented by creamy chive sauce served with macaroni au gratin
- Sweet and Sour Chicken: breast of chicken complimented by a honey and vinegar sauce, with tourne carrots and borad beans
- Spinach Ravioli: ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta cheese enhanced by creamy asparagus sauce and fresh tomato
- Express meal of chilled chicken breast with tomato coulis and grilled vegitable salad

- Cheese and Fruit
- Dessert: Noiseraie Cake

Snacking Station with crisps, cookies, chocolate, fruits, and drinks.

"Interlude" of Haagen-Dazs ice cream.

Afternoon Refreshment:
- Fresh Fruit
- Assorted sandwiches: turkey club, egg salad w/cucumber, cheese w/chutney
- Chicken Quiche
- Assorted Pastries

Food service was fairly prompt. I was a bit disappointed with the entree selections and the quality of the food, but maybe my expectations were set too high. The attentive cabin crew was always handy for drink refills and the like. I was impressed with the FAs here. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The SONY P@ssport system was nice, too. There is a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and music at your disposal, and all of it "on demand". The screens were nice and big, and the noise cancelling headphones worked well. No complaints here, either. I was impressed. I'm assuming that the system is free in Economy as well?

Well, that's about it. In short, the A330 is sweet!! Enjoy it before United takes over and decides to reserve Envoy and First for you know who. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
