I WANT TO USE US AIR MILES TO GET AN AA TICKET FOR 25,000 MILES WITHOUT A SATURDAY NIGHT. AA TELLS ME THIS IS NO PROBLEM. BUT, US AIR SAYS I MUST HAVE A SATURDAY NIGHT STAY PER AA RULES. AA SAYS THEY HAVE NO SUCH RULE. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

Try transferring the miles to your AA account and redeeming the ticket directly with AA.

Chalf: Transferring miles to/from US/AA accounts is a no-no. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

tvdt: I'm not sure what to tell you. I thought you needed a Saturday night, but I could be wrong, too. Anyhoo, if you have 1,000 AA miles as well, then you could use AA (those who don't have a problem with your itinerary w/o a Sat. night) to make your booking using 24,000 US miles and 1,000 AA miles. Just a thought. Good luck!!

If you have an AA account, use at least 1000 AA miles, and call up the AAdvantage people and have them book it, instead of the Dividend Miles people you have been dealing with at US.

ThisFlightNoFuel: Djlawman's suggestion is the same as mine--I just did not clarify that this is a "combined" award rather than a true transfer.
