read a piece on aol bargain box regarding metrojets entrance in to ny...La Guardia in response to Southwest entry at McArthur. i think that this is a mistake, because all i have seen is regularly scheduled service into wash. dulles planned for march. can anyone shed some light on this? if true, then cheap airfares are here to stay with usairways/metrojet.

MetroJet did just add a bunch of flights to IAD but none of them connect to NY-LGA as far as I know. Most head south to Raleigh, Orlando, and Atlanta, I think. US Airways DID recently increase its service between IAD and NY-LGA. They just increased the frequency of the DC to NY flight by making them hourly.

metrojet is meant to stop incursions by WN and other lowfare operators, not cannibalize the mainline.
