Amtrak Offers Special Companion Fare during George Eastman House "Trains" Photography Exhibit in Rochester, NY
Through Jan. 25, 2009, Amtrak is offering a special companion discount of 50 percent off for travel to and from Rochester, N.Y. during the "Trains" Photography Exhibit at George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester.
Passengers purchasing one ticket at full price for travel on Amtrak's Empire Service, Maple Leaf and Lake Shore Limited to Rochester, New York, may purchase a ticket for a traveling companion for half off the full fare.
Headlining the exhibition, which spans three centuries of train photography, will be the best work of O. Winston Link, famous for his wonderfully evocative night photos of steam locomotives. Complimenting the Link exhibit is "Tracks," a survey of more than 80 railroad images from the Eastman House Collection, covering more than 160 years of photographic history as well as a contemporary video installation by British artist Andrew Cross.
To take advantage of the Bring a Companion at 50 percent off Offer, visit Amtrak.com or call 1-800-USA-RAIL and use the discount code H791. Some blackout dates and seat restrictions apply. Reservations are required a minimum of three days prior to travel and the discount is not valid in conjunction with any other discounts.
also has other discounts for area - Orlando Entertainment Book is worth buying for food and attraction discounts and freebees for companion tickets to lots of attractions (not Disney)
Does anyone know any code to get a discount on the autotrain.....other than the AAA, NARP, etc typical ones. The Orlando Card only works southbound first and I live in Florida and want a round trip starting here.

Here is a repost for the 2009 thread of current Downeaster discounts.
I took the Downeaster from Boston (BON) to Portland and back for a one day get-away. A great trip, free Wifi, wonderful customer service by the staff, and a fantastic way to see the snow covered New England scenery. One of the best bargains is to upgrade to Business Class for a few dollars more.
The Downeaster Travel Guide handed out onboard has the following discounts on that route:
V687 - 25% discount on round-trip to Boston for evening events V581 - Kids ride free on Sundays through June 2009 V543 - Seniors save 50% when traveling Tuesday-Thursday through June 2009 V279 - 25% discount on medical travel through June 2009 V773 - Buy 1 adult get 1 free through February 2009 College 6TIX - get six trips on the Downeaster for $76 when you show your college ID. Up to 50% off regular fares
Not sure if this is a targeted promo or not. The deal killer for me is the $50 minimum on one-ways.

I just received an email for the Winter Sale. Is this/any promo combinable w/ other discounts? For example: I'm meeting my other half in PHL to travel from there to CHS. She has a disability card that gives her 15% off. I have AAA. Can all of this be combined? Are there any other codes above in your promo/discount thread that can work w/ this as well?
