Definitely targeted. My offer was take two trips on the NE Regional, get one free (code 10609).
Unfortunately, the only travel I have planned for that time block is in the SE corridor.

I just received an email for the Winter Sale. Is this/any promo combinable w/ other discounts? For example: I'm meeting my other half in PHL to travel from there to CHS. She has a disability card that gives her 15% off. I have AAA. Can all of this be combined? Are there any other codes above in your promo/discount thread that can work w/ this as well?
No!
This (and most other codes) are not combinable with other discounts! You MUST request an ADULT fare to get the correct discount!
Example: Although there is no code with this particular one, if you request an ADULT fare and the code, you would get 20% off. But if you requested a AAA fare and the code, you would receive an error message saying "... we provided a non-discounted fare ..." - and that fare would be the normal 10% discount only!
I checked prices with the winter promotion and was allowed to use AAA or the Senior discount along with it. You may want to check it out... Definitely a good deal.

And to clarify, you can't combine the AAA discount and the disability card discount for a 25% discount.
Your AAA discount extends to anyone on the same itinerary (if you have multiple people traveling on one itinerary, simply select "AAA Adult" for each person and put your AAA number in the "AAA Number" field on the passenger information page)--this is a perfectly legitimate and allowed option.
However, your other half's disability card discount only applies to her.
Additionally, you have to book with the disability card discount via telephone or in person, but when you do, make sure to mention that the other person traveling (you) have AAA so you at least get the 10% AAA discount.
Just a heads up to anyone planning to use the V145 - 20% off Florida Silver Service Magicard discount. You'll need to book either a round-trip or a one-way from somewhere else TO Florida. It does not work if you are booking a one-way out of Florida as I had tried to do this last year. The reason is because this discount is designed to bring tourists to Florida.

If you are traveling together, let the agent know that she is disabled and that you are her companion on the trip. You will also be entitled to the 15% Disability Companion discount. This is legitimate but doesn't seem to be well-known.

I thank everyone. I already know about the seperate itinerary's from experience but now what we need to know is how do we go about the disabled comp. fare b/c we asked about this before & the agent seemed like she didn't know what we were talking about. We had one agent who asked why was my fiancee showing her her disability card. I asked how long she has been working for Amtrak & she said she had been there for over 10yrs but acted as if she had never seen /dealt w/ the card before. If this can work along w/ the promo discount, that would be great.

Look closer!
I pulled up a BUF-CHI trip and it said $47. When I put in a AAA fare, the fare was $52! The "winter sale" price - with 20% off - was $47, but the AAA fare - with 10% off - was $52!

They are not combinable.
Which, given that the sale fares are non-refundable, could be a good thing. If you think you might need a cash refund, take the AAA price and pay the extra 10%?

Sorry for not being specific. I entered the information it in the title. I,m departing Los Angeles Union Station Oct. 7th. Arriving Detroit, Mi.
Sorry. Post titles do not show up on FlyerTalk Wireless.
I'm not seeing any other discount that would apply to your itinerary right now. It's possible that some discount will come out between now and October. But you can certainly lock in the present price now by paying for the trip, but not ticketing it. If you subsequently find something better, you can cancel your reservation, and get a 100% refund; then rebook the trip using the new discount code to get the lower price.
