Triley-UR A BLESSING! I don't mind the hr long bus ride b/c I am a traveler who loves to "see as much as I can see."
You're quite welcome.
I love traveling and seeing as much as I can as well, but I suppose just because I've had several bad dealings with Greyhound, I stop and think all long distance bus companies will be like them.
But like I said, if the schedule works out well for you, or if you've got nothing better to do, definitely take the bus to New York. I can't say that I haven't been guilty of mixing a bus and rail trip together, when I could have just taken one straight to my destination, just because I could.
the_traveler: give thanx. I'm going to try & find out about this (the hotel said that there wasn't a shuttle. Is there a fee for this?
The cost isn't listed on Amtrak website, nor on the website of the company who operates the shuttle (A Airline Express Limousine and Car Service, Inc). So likely the only way for anyone to know the cost, is if they've called them, or taken the shuttle themselves. Seeing as it's only about a 30 minute trip by car, I can't imagine the cost to be too outrageous. But then again, most limo and car rental companies that I've seen charge per full hour, and I don't know if they would be the same.

Just pointing out that the press release contains conflicting information. The top portion says they are offering 25% off on all travel to and from Vancouver, BC. Later, it says the discount is not valid on Thruway buses...which comprise 2/3rd's of the daily departures on this segment. So which is it? I did some dummy bookings and found that the Thruway exclusion is indeed correct.
Amtrak needs to clean up that headline because it's pretty misleading, IMHO.
