Amex Signup Bonus Question
Was curious if anyone has been able to get a signup bonus on an Amex personal card they've had already if they never originally had a signup bonus.
Earlier this year I canceled my Platinum card that I had since 1997 because I just felt I wasn't getting enough value out of it to justify the hefty annual fee any more, and now I am seeing all these great signup bonus offers. I would love to take advantage of 100k MR points and get the card again, but am not sure if I would be eligible for the bonus. Back in 1997, I DEFINITELY never got a signup bonus for the card. I wasn't even aware of such a thing as a "signup bonus" back then, sadly.
Any opinions (or hopefully, data points) on this?
