Urgh, I'm so mad. Got the card about a month ago and knew I should have waited for a better offer than the cruddy 6,000 bonus points with stays offer they had back then.

Hmm...I just applied for one a few days ago, before the new offer, and my card will be coming in a few days. Do you think AMEX will give me the 4000 bonus Starpoints anyway?

Can you cancel your corrent Amex and then reapply to get the bonus?

Call them! I had a similar thing happen to me when I applied last year and a friendly phone call got me the higher amount of points. No hassel at all! That's why I love AMEX unlike so many other people. Never had a problem with them and I have had various cards for years.

That's what it is now! I think the wording is confusing people. AMEX will give you 4k and then you can earn up to 6k by staying at *W properties...1k for the first stay and then 500 after that during the first year.

If you already have a AMEX starwood card, I don't think you get the bonus. If you have other AMEX card/cards, you don't need to cancel, just apply for the starwood.
