People have reported getting declined entry to both of these lounges due to being at capacity; hopefully my PP Select will get me in.

Six hours would be pretty rough even with a Centurion lounge there.
Well, my alternative was five hours at Dulles ... (Ha ha.)

Amex Centurion and Platinum Priority Pass benefit

I also received an email from Priority Pass that the letters were sent out by mistake.

Slightly off topic: I have both Priority Pass select from US cards and Pure Priority Pass from European cards. To my knowledge, the main difference was that for a time, United allowed the main Priority Pass in US lounges while the US select card was not allowed. Now that United has shut out all Priority Passes from their lounges, is there any access difference between the two cards, other than that the Select pass is issued by US institutions? Also I know that many of the European AMEX cards allow a free guest with the Priority Pass while US AMEX select cards (other than I believe the US CENT card) is main card holder only plus $27 per guest. Thanks!

Just used my PP to get into the AF and KLM longes at IAH yesterday. No issues using the card to get into either club. I visited each between 4p-5:15p. I was flying AA back to Chicago out of Terminal A. The Skytrain took just a couple of minutes, there were frequent trains and was inside security.

Personally, I preferred the AF lounge. Both serve basically the same food & drink but the KLM Crown Lounge really looked "dumpy" and not very clean. The AF Lounge was clean and the staff were much more pleasant/friendly/chatty. I think that people hit the KLM Lounge because it is the first one you come to whereas the AF Lounge is all the way down the corridor. Of course, YMMV.

The KLM Lounge has been hit pretty hard by heavy use by priority pass users, IMO. It had limited hours when it first joined PP, which quickly expanded to all day since it was the only PP lounge. The AF lounge only joined recently, as in the last few months. Why KLM/AF pay to rent and operate 2 spaces when they are the same parent company makes little sense to me, but whatever. I haven't yet visited the AF lounge because I think the hours are more limited.

Thanks. Assuming there aren't crowding issues, I should have time to check out both lounges. For whatever reason, the KLM lounge seems to be much higher-rated on LoungeBuddy, but perhaps it shouldn't be.

Definitely dropping off in quality, and also had a change in management a few months ago, including change in staff.

Same here, the Air France lounge wasn't going to open until noon on my last trip through IAH.

Unless it's a PP Select limitation, the AF lounge is only open from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Those seem like incredibly limited hours for what must be a good-sized lease payment.

PP Select has no bearing anymore now that United Clubs aren't a member of PP at all, but that discussion is in the consolidated PP thread.

Also it's worth noting that there is no being sure that the hours on the PP website are correct. It has said for over a year that the KLM Lounge opens at 6 am and one time I went at 6:30 and it was closed and the sign on the door said it opened at 7 am. I even took a picture and emailed it to PP and they said they'd look into it. It's never been updated. Maybe they now actually open at 6. I don't know since I haven't had a flight that early to test it out.

Also interesting, on the AF website it doesn't even mention having a lounge in Houston. http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common..._airfrance.htm

Thanks. I knew about the PP/PP Select distinction being mooted by United's withdrawal, but I thought there were still some hourly restrictions on PP cardholders at some lounges — i.e., the hours of access for PP cardholders sometimes are more limited than the lounge's actual operating hours.

There definitely are some lounges with restrictions (notably the BA lounge at IAD, with PP access only before 2PM)

But is that the difference between Priority Pass and regular access or Priority Pass and Priority Pass Select? I'd wager that it's the former.

The KLM lounge is closer to correct, but the hours are definitely closer to guidelines than fact. I'll use Skyguide for a UA lounge if it turns out to be closed when I'm there, which hasn't been for a while flying between IAH-SEA.
