Are Platinum benefits worth it for a frequent flyer?

Just got this card - started a new position a month ago in which I travel weekly all USA/CAN. Are the benefits worth it ? I was disappointed that you need to fly Delta to use the SC, guess I will keep my AA Club membership. But auto HHonors Gold, and the rental car bene's seem great as well as the Boingo account since they are in every airport

Do you fly mostly AA? You may find value in the Citi Prestige. Admirals club access is included and they have a better level of Priority Pass. Something to look into....obviously you'd want to take a look at how all the benefits fit your needs.

Also if you frequent airports with AMEX Centurion lounges that would provide a substantial benefit.

+1

You also get Priority Pass and Starwood Gold (I guess potentially Marriott Gold... haha).

I upgraded to the PLT, wondering how long the enrollments take ? For HHonors how long after enrolling does it take for Gold status to show at Hilton ? Same Q for National ? I already had accounts at both places

You may find this thread helpful to insure that you activate all of the benefits:

This thread suggests that the Hilton status can be activated as soon as 48 hours, but (I think) unlikely to happen over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend:

Once your National account is upgraded to Executive elite you can submit a status match to Hertz for Five Star:

I like the card, but then again I fly Delta primarily so the Skyclub benefits are a big reason for that. When you add in the airline fee reimbursement, the lounges, SPG Gold and HH Gold I think it's a good card to have. Plus if you link it to your Uber account you get 2x MR points. Another nice touch.

To be fair - that isn't a Platinum exclusive perk. I had it on my Everyday even before I got my Plat. Truthfully I like the SPG-Uber partnership just as much as the 2X MR, if not more.
