YESSSSSSSSS.

I've been waiting for ANY BA transfer bonus to move out all my points before closing my Plat card in January / February after getting another $200 in airline fee reimbursements and before the annual fee hits... I would have been happy with 20%, thrilled with 30%, but 40% is just AMAZING!!!

250k + points moving on over now!

This 40% offer is the only BAEC transfer bonus in 2014. In 2013 Membership Rewards (USA) offered three smaller transfer bonuses (20%, 30%, 35%) to BAEC.

Please reply to the poll at the top of the thread to indicate which approach you prefer.

What are the Pros/Cons of transferring my whole AR point stash over now to BA? (135k) Better to do it all at once now even if I have no set travel plans in mind?

@SESTAR I was in tears too because I'm in CANADA and this offer only applies to US cards.

I called AMEX Canada and they said there are NO bonuses on the horizon for any partners.

This sucks man!

the new AMEX TO AVIOS (BA) promo stared today. 40% bonus.

Unfortunately this applies to US cards only.

I was hoping to take advantage of this bonus today as the AF was posted yesterday on my account. Unfortunately I cannot cancel my card yet due to no good promos to transfer out my MRs.

Sad.

Much of the value of Membership Rewards is the ability to transfer instantly to a variety of airline partners across all three of the international alliances. If you transfer on speculation you are gambling that BAEC will have the seats you need, when you need them -and- that BA will not make an unfavorable change to their program which affects your use.

If you were to transfer to BA, how would you expect to use the Avois points?

Nice timing. This will mean at least 400k to 900k more BA points than if I did the transfer last week.

That is a lot of very valuable short-haul tickets for me. Now I just have to hope BA doesn't devalue their award chart in massive ways that undermine the value I get out of the short-haul award pricing for bookings made next year.

I was holding out on doing transfers out of the huge Amex MR balance, and I was holding out for something like this. 40% now is even better than I expected.

Thank you Amex and BA.

Help me out here. I'm having a hard time getting excited about this since the taxes into the UK on BA are profane. I've found that it's not reall worth burning miles for. What am I missing?

Avois need not be used for transatlantic flights operated by BA.

Some alternatives:

Domestic USA flights operates by Alaska Airlines or American Airlines. BA prices each segment separately by distance, the best value is a non-stop flight in coach.

Transatlantic flights operated by Aer Lingus or Air Berlin. (Note that transatlantic flights operated by American Airlines are subject to the same fees as flights operated by BA itself.)
