This was a feature of a previous version of the Gold Business card, but not the current card which now offers bonuses in various categories.

75,000 Bonus MR Points - Amex Gold Business Card

I logged into my eBay account this evening and saw this offer:

75,000 MR Points after $10,000 spend in first 4 months.

† Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product or any other Business Gold, Green or Platinum Card® account within the last 12 months. To be eligible to receive the additional points, you must (1) apply for the Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN using Bonus ID A3ZA on May 14, May 15, May 16, or May 17th 2013 and be approved for this Card, and (2) charge $10,000 of eligible purchases on the Business Gold Rewards Card in the first 4 months of Card membership. You may also qualify for this offer if you apply for this Card by calling American Express at 1-800-519-OPEN (6736). If you apply after May 17th, 2013, we may still process your application but you will not be eligible for the 75,000 additional points.

I don't have any CVS and no VR anywhere in my state so manufactured spend is difficult for me. Come September-Dec I'll have lots of actual business spend, so hopefully this card and the SPG card will have higher bonuses around then.

"Eligible purchases are purchases of goods and services minus returns and other credits, and do not include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of traveler’s checks, purchase or reloading of reloadable pre-paid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents."

So no beans or Visa GC's to meet the spend?

Standard language, in every application. Purchases from grocery stores and drug stores are fine, purchases from financial institutions may not be. Mix your spending up, don't have 20 purchases from one drug store for 503.95 each.

Question SS number sufficient?

The application seems to require an Employer Identification Number, as opposed to many business cc applications for which a social security number is sufficient. Am I missing something, or can an SS # in fact somehow be used for this application?
