This thread is primarily about American Express Membership Rewards (MR). Most of the frequent flier and hotel programmes into which MR points can be transferred have their own dedicated forums, e.g. (for Virgin Atlantic):

Any speculation on when the [BA] transfer bonus might be back? Are folks guessing 40% again, or something worse (or better)?

Last BA bonus was 12/15/14 - 01/31/15 - 40%. It was about 45 days...
looks like a pattern of about once per year.

In light of the forthcoming devaluation in MR transfers to BA avios on Oct 1 (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...01-2015-a.html ), I think we can kiss the hope of any transfer bonuses goodbye till at least then (and probably quite a few months after that as well, I would imagine).

So where do I use mine - I got 75k - spouse got 125k.

We have a trip coming up to Hawaii (need airport to hotel transport) and Syd (need a rental car and hotel) - is there a special way to us MR points other than statement credit for these purchases?

Any other ways to use these MR points?
